A Summer Weight Loss Plan For A New You
- By: Bill Protresi
Summer is only second to Christmas when a lot of people display the tendency to gain a significant amount of weight. A lot of reasons contribute to this truth, starting from idleness as most schools are closed during this period, to the number of events we go to during the summer months where an irresistible bevy of delicacies and gastronomic delights is often presented for our taste.
But, you don't have to gain weight this summer.
In fact, you can spend this hot summer to shape the hot new you.
The primary "value" to learn this summer is discipline. Discipline refers to the drive to accomplish the things you have to accomplish, and say no to the things you have to say no to. You know you have to observer proper diet. You know you have to be careful of what you eat. You realize you have to engage in proper workout routines. You realize you have to observe a healthy lifestyle.

Practicing discipline, of course, is easier said than done. You also need motivation.
There are many kinds of motivation. Want to pique someone's interests with a fitter, healthier you? Want to spend more fruitful years with the people you love by closely watching over your well being? Want to be the apple of everyone's eyes in the beach by sunbathing with your sizzling, sensual body?
No motivation can be deemed as worthless. If your motivation drives you to drive harder in achieving your aims, then it is an effective motivation.
There are many activities that you can pursue during this period. Most of these activities involve working up some sweat that will help speed up your metabolism, help burn your calories, and help you lose weight. Enroll in a dance class. Learn Aikido or karate or Judo. Join your town's jogging club. Try out for your local YMCA's basketball team.
Do anything that will keep you active in a productive way. Laziness is your enemy, especially during summer when the mind is conditioned to allow the body to be lazy in preparation for the rest of the year.
